The biggest one being Organic! <strong>Just because a product says it\u2019s organic does not mean it isn\u2019t highly processed junk food<\/strong>. It is important to first ensure an item is not highly processed and then also try to find the organic version if possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to do this, you want to always read the ingredient label (as opposed to relying on the health claims on the front of the package) first. Even if a food product is labeled as certified organic it could still be made with sugar, white flour, and other refined ingredients. <br><br><strong>Product Example: Late July Organic Vanilla Bean Cookies<\/strong><br>These organic cookies contain refined white flour (labeled as organic wheat flour), refined sweeteners (labeled as organic evaporated cane juice, organic brown rice syrup, and organic evaporated cane juice syrup), and additives (including soy lecithin and natural flavors).<br><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"250\" height=\"336\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2904\" style=\"width: 250px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.100daysofrealfood.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/organic-cookies.jpg\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.100daysofrealfood.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/organic-cookies.jpg 346w, https:\/\/www.100daysofrealfood.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/organic-cookies-298x400.jpg 298w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 250px) 100vw, 250px\" \/><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-more-organic-junk-food-examples\">More Organic Junk Food Examples<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Organic flavored yogurt (also full of organic sugar...look for plain organic yogurt and flavor it yourself with fruit)<\/li><li>Organic cookies<\/li><li>Organic crackers made with white flour<\/li><li>Organic chips and pretzels<\/li><li>Organic white bread<\/li><li>Organic ice cream sandwiches (the one pictured contains organic corn syrup and organic sugar in addition to white flour)<br><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"180\" height=\"180\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-30100\" src=\"https:\/\/www.100daysofrealfood.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/ice-cream-sandwiches.jpg\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.100daysofrealfood.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/ice-cream-sandwiches.jpg 180w, https:\/\/www.100daysofrealfood.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/ice-cream-sandwiches-60x60.jpg 60w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 180px) 100vw, 180px\" \/><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-multi-grain-7-grain\">Multi-Grain \/ 7-Grain<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This claim simply means the product contains more than one type of grain (or in some cases as many as 7 grains). Some examples of different grains are wheat, barley, rye, spelt, rice, oats, and corn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just because a food product is made with more than one of these grains does not automatically mean any of them are whole grains, and <strong>nutritionally speaking, there is a big difference between refined and whole grains<\/strong>. But just like the multi-grain example above <strong>the alternate grains may or may not be whole grain products, you must read the ingredient label to find out!<\/strong><br><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">-<\/span><br><strong>Product Example: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/dp\/B005761VMI?tag=100dayofreafo-20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow\">DeBoles Gluten-Free Rice Pasta<\/a><\/strong><br>This pasta is made from refined \"rice\" and contains no whole grains (like brown rice).<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Rice Pasta\"
